Evaluation & Assessment

Our Running Evaluation includes a thorough review of your injury and training history followed by a comprehensive running specific assessment which includes the measurement of your strength, flexibility, alignment and movement capacity. Whilst we provide a diagnosis of your injury, our primary goal at The Running Lab is to establish the ‘Probable Suspects’ that are often precursors to the development of common running injuries such as patello-femoral pain and achillies tendinopathy.

2d/3d Analysis & Review

2d/3d Analysis & Review

An advanced 3d infrared motion capture technology, a 2d video analysis system and custom built proprietary software are used to acquire the fundamental parameters of your running gait.  A comprehensive review of your results allows The Running Lab Team to address your underlying biomechanical puzzle and quantify any mechanical inefficiencies, tissue stress, identify incorrect movement patterns and target areas where efficiency can be improved.

Re-education & Rehabilitation

Re-education & Rehabilitation

By addressing running faults we can decrease tissue stress allowing symptoms to resolve and often with some simple technique modification we can use running as part of your rehabilitation. An individual rehabilitation programme incorporating mobility exercises to remove restrictions, strengthening exercises to address muscle weakness, low level plyometrics to improve muscle stiffness and functional exercises to increase movement capacity is provided.
